About

Madeleine Hutchins is a Mohegan storyteller and scholar based in Connecticut. She has studied Indigenous lifeways and literature, story medicine, and philosophy with a focus on ethics, particularly bioethics, and has trained as a spiritual care provider. Madeleine is also an INELDA trained death doula. She works on Indigenous storytelling projects and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially with plants, as well as continuing to learn more about Mohegan traditions, language, history, land, and culture. As someone who’s long dealt with chronic illness and injuries, Madeleine tries to make time for healing with the goal not only of improving their quality of life but also being better able to be in relationship with others.
